Boston CMO, Angel Investor and Startup Advisor

Hi, I'm Mike. These days I'm a board member at a few companies and a CEO coach for a few others, and for a couple companies, I do both.

I've worked in startups for more than 25 years, mostly SaaS (since before they were called SaaS) and nearly all B2B. I was CEO at Lola through our sale to Capital One, I was CMO at Cybereason through the initial scaling stage. I joined HubSpot as the fifth employee and as CMO helped the company grow from about a dozen beta customers to over 15,000 customers, 1,000 employees, $175m in revenue, and an IPO leading to a $1.7B market cap.  I've also made more than 50 angel investments including HubSpot, Drift, Privy, Desktop Metal, Locately, GroSocial, and ThriveHive, both alone and with my angel investing co-pilot Yoav Shapira through our Operator.VC non-fund.

I
love talking about go to market and CEO stuff with founders and executives.

PS - This blog is very old, most of it is probably very out of date.
